Edward Robinson (1794-1863) was a Presbyterian minister, Biblical scholar, Union Theological Seminary professor, and its first librarian. This collection contains the manuscript originally entitled "Biblical Researches in Palestine and the Countries in the South," appendices of English-Arabic lists and language exercises, travel itineraries, a guide to Arabic pronunciation, and supplementary materials relating to travel; galley proofs of the Friedrich Wilhelm Gesenius lexicon with handwritten annotations by Robinson and possibly others; as well as two plastic-bound transcripts, indexed, of letters exchanged between Edward Robinson and Moses Stuart between 1826 and 1830.

Joseph Kingsbury Greene was an American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions Congregational missionary in Turkey for fifty-one years, stationed in Nicodemia, Bursa, and Manisa. He was fluent in Armenian and Turkish languages. The collection contains Greene's diaries from 1859 through 1917, Greene's correspondence with members of the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions and others, and Greene's handwritten English and Armenian dictionaries.

Papers were presented and critiqued, and issues concerning the evolution of Christianity and the modern world discussed. Odell (1871-1929) was an English Primitive Methodist and then Presbyterian preacher, who became pastor of Presbyterian churches in Fulton, NY (1894-1902), Scranton, PA (1902-1914), and Troy, NY (1915-1918), and was known for his writings during World War I. The collection contains a diary kept by Odell during his trip around the world in 1905-1906 visiting missions and YMCAs, as well as an introducution to and transcription of the diary, a photo album with pictures taken along the trip, a one-page biographical timeline of Odell's life, and a list of his printed articles.

Ann Robb Smith was a member of the women's ordination planning group prior to the ordination of the first women Episcopal priests at the Church of the Advocate, in Philadelphia, July 29, 1974 ["the Philadelphia 11"]. She was the lay presenter for the ordination of Sue Hiatt, and a member of the National Advisory Committee of Women's Ordination Now. She was an ordained Assistant at the Church of the Advocate. The collection contains working papers, correspondence, clippings, and other related materials which tell the story of the ordination of the Philadelphia 11, from the planning stage to the immediate responses and later anniversaries of the event, including papers relating to Women's Ordination Now.

This collection contains Reginald Helfferich's correspondence, diaries, family and biographical material, publications, and other personal materials; professional materials including information about Heifer Project International, photographs, materials related to Helfferich's ministerial work as pastor of Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church of Bath, Pennsylvania, and materials related to Helfferich's work with Church World Service (CWS); as well as audio and visual memorabilia from both Helfferich's personal and professional life, primarily Kodachrome diapositive slides, photographs, and postcards from Helfferich's travels in Europe, Africa, India, South America, and beyond.

Clarence Richmond Thayer was a United Presbyterian Psychologist who spent his life studying and testing missionaries in attempts to predict the success of potential missionaries. Various boards and thousands of missionaries from Foreign Missions Conference of North America (FMCNA) participated in studies. The collection includes correspondence about studies as well as information about the donation of the collection to the Missionary Research Library; annotated copies of Dr. Thayer's PhD Thesis from the University of Pittsburgh; as well as records from the studies including results and data tables and the complete set of computer cards from the 1972 study.

The Primer Encuentro Latinoamericano de Cristianos por el Socialismo was a conference organized by a group of 80 Chilean priests (known as "Las Ochenta" and later as "Cristianos por el Socialismo"). The primary goals of the conference were to unite Latin American Christian groups across the church's hierarchical and denominational divides and to foster the integration of Christian and socialist ideologies. The PELCS records consist of reports, correspondence, publications, and other materials relating to the conference, including essays on the conference's 10 themes: 1. Underdevelopment, dependence and the transition to socialism in Latin America; 2. Mobilization of the masses; 3. Conditions for a strategic alliance between Christians and Marxists; 4. Ideology and religion, cultural revolution and the Christian faith; 5. Class struggle, ethical positions and obstacles for Christians; 6.
