Drawings collected during a recent Human Rights Watch mission to refugee camps along Darfur's border with Chad, after HRW researchers gave children pens and crayons to draw while their families were being interviewed. Without prompting or guidance, the children produced vivid and disturbing scenes of the violence and atrocities they had witnessed: attacks by the Janjaweed militias, aerial bombings, rapes, the destruction of villages and the refugees' flight to Chad. The children's drawings corroborate in chilling detail the eye-witness testimonies about crimes against humanity in Darfur that Human Rights Watch has been documenting for months, and thus represent a valuable graphic record of the ongoing human rights crisis.

Correspondence, manuscripts and illustrations concerned with Symons' two most important historical works on the detective story, The Great Detectives, 1981, and the 1985 revised edition of Bloody Murder, which received the Mystery Writers of America Edgar Allan Poe Award for the 1972 first edition. Most of the correspondence is concerned with The Great Detectives, including 2 letters from Frederic Dannay, 2 letters from Lady Gregory Bromet (daughter of A. Conan Doyle), and 1 letter from Tom Adams with drafts of his illustrations for this book. There is also a letter from Canadian author Derrick Murdoch, founder of Crime Writers of Canada.

Robert M. Morgenthau (1919-2019) served as the District Attorney for New York County (the borough of Manhattan) for 35 years (1974-2009) and made a reputation for prosecuting white-collar crime. In this regard, the Papers hold many research files covering such aspects of white-collar crime as money laundering, offshore banking and tax havens. Morgenthau rarely handled a case himself. He delegated prosecutions to key aides in his office of 500 lawyers. Although not comprehensive, the Papers do contain a few files of assignment sheets covering the period (1938-2008). These sheets indicate which bureau each Assistant District Attorney was assigned to each month. The Papers, in turn, do not have any employment information about individual lawyers or the specific cases they worked on while employed in the Manhattan District Attorney's Office under Morgenthau. However, researchers should review "Series VI: Press Releases" and "Series VIII: Statements and Testimonies before Local, State and National Governmental Bodies," in order to gain an understanding of the issues handled by the Manhattan DA office during Robert Morgenthau's tenure.

Correspondence, subject files, manuscripts, photographs, slides, and printed materials relating to criminal justice and economic history documenting the work of Henry Cohen. The correspondence consists of two series, general correspondence and correspondence relating to "Criminal Justice History." There are manuscripts by Cohen for "Interpretive History of American Political Economy" (unpublished?) and other manuscripts including the introduction to the film script "Public Enemy." There are manuscripts by other authors submitted for publication in "Criminal Justice History" with related photographs. The subject files relate to "Business and Politics in America" with related photographs, the Spater artistic censorship case at the University of California, discussion material relating to the "National Right to Work Legislation" "Brutal Justice" with related slides, the Geese National Theater Company, the Pritzker Architecture Prize and the paper "Vicisitudes of an Absentee Landlord." The printed materials include copies of CJH articles, issues of "Historical Approaches to Studying Crime" and other offprints
