The correspondence, papers, photographs, and A/V content document the professional and personal life of Arthur Krim and his involvement with Columbia University and the Democratic National Committee, especially his relationship with President Lyndon B. Johnson (1908-1973) and First Lady Claudia Alta "Lady Bird" Johnson (1912-2007).

Subseries V.3 Articles, 1887-1994: Arranged by roughly by publication date, this series contains correspondence and drafts of connected to Dr. Zuckerman's article projects. Please note that many of Professor Zuckerman's articles had their genesis in professional conference lectures and presentations. Therefore, additional articles can be found in Series I.1 Professional Correspondence--General, 1967-2011 and III.2 Professional Career--Affiliations, 1954-2014. This decision was made in order to maintain as much as possible the original order of the archival materials.

3000 linear feetMinutes, correspondence, annual reports, press releases, financial records, photographs, memorabilia, audiovisual, digital and printed materials document the philanthropic activities and administration of the Carnegie Corporation of New York. The collection is actively growing, primarily through regular document transfers from the Carnegie Corporation of New York. Andrew Carnegie's biographical information and personal philanthropic activity can be found in Series VII. In addition, his pre-1911 gifts, most notably his donations for libraries and church organs, can be found on microfilm (Series II), in the Home Trust Company Records (VI.A), and Financial Record Books (I.C.1). Grant files (Series III.A), which comprise the bulk of the collection) provide information on projects and institutions founded, endowed or supported by the Corporation. The Special Initiatives series (Series IV) contains the records of task forces, commissions and councils, formed by the Corporation mostly during the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s to address specific issues. The Corporation's records include those of other Carnegie philanthropic organizations (Series VI), including the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the Home Trust Company, both of which shared staff, officers, and office space with the Corporation for a period of time.

These records consist of the minutes of the Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee. For certain minutes, this series also includes supporting materials such as agendas, resolutions, correspondence, and draft minutes, and other related archival material. Every meeting is well documented, and discussions and decisions are described in detail. Included among the minutes are financial reports of the Corporation's holdings, budgets for fiscal years, treasurer's reports, finance committee reports, records of appropriation of funds, employee salary information, attendance lists, and meeting reminder correspondence. In addition, informal notes on conversations at meetings are included. The meetings address issues regarding both the external and internal functioning of the Corporation such as appropriation of funds for specific causes, trustee nominations, and changes in the corporate infrastructure.
