The collection consists mainly of correspondence, financial records, and subject files. Also included are protocols of meetings and reports, photographs, membership and subscription lists, and printed materials. The cataloged materials include manuscripts sent by such authors as Alekseĭ Remizov and Boris Zaĭt︠s︡ev for "Den ́Russkogo Rebenka" (Day of the Russian Child) in the 1930s, as well as correspondence from Nikolaĭ Vakar, Claire Boothe Luce, Aleksandra Tolstai︠a︡, and others. The bulk of the collection consists of correspondence with and about beneficiaries, and financial records from the period 1926-57.

Extensive notes by Mosely concern European diplomacy in the 1830s and the South Slavic Zadruga. There are thousands of photographs, chiefly from the Soviet Union ca. 1945-1955. Besides photographs of Soviet, Chinese, and East European political figures, such as Mao Tse-Tung, György Lukʹacs, and Boris Spasskiĭ, there are photographs of such Western figures as Enrico Berlinguer and Pablo Neruda. Subject files and mimeographed and printed materials include files on the Inter-University Committee on Travel Grants; papers on Soviet Studies distributed by St. Antony College, Oxford University; State Department research reports, and works by Mosely.

This collection includes Papers of the Committee for the Education of Russian Youth in Exile, and its predecessors, Refugees in Russia and the Committee for the Rescue and Education of Russian Children, and Papers of the Committee' Director, Thomas Whittemore. The collection, which consists of correspondence, files on students supported by the Committee, financial records, photographs, manuscripts, documents, and printed materials, with the bulk dates 1914-1936.

The reports and correspondence relating to UNRRA were arranged according to the nine administrative divisions of that organization that generated the documents: Bureau of Administration (26 reels); Office of the Diplomatic Adviser (4 reels); Office of the Director General (20 reels); Office of the Economic Adviser (4 reels); Office of Far Eastern Affairs (9 reels); Office of the General Counsel (19 reels); Office of the Historian (16 reels); Office of Public Information (1 reel); and Secretariat Executive Office (3 reels). Within each division, subsidiary bodies are typically separated into subject and country files.
