There is also reminiscences about von Meck's family and people Belli saw in their home, including artist B. M. Kustodiev; actors L. V. Sobinov, A. V. Nezhdanova, I. A. Alchevskii; Ippolit Il'ich Tchaikovsky, brother of the composer, first leader of the boy scouts in Russia, and many others.

Abstract Or Scope: Five bound volumes containing letters of Aleksandr Semenovich Kovalevskiĭ to his wife; to his eldest son, Mikhail; and letters by his children and by other persons. Most of the letters are from 1845-1846 and 1853-1860, many being from the time of his military service in the Crimean War. There are also a few items from the mid-1820s (a letter to A. S. Kovalevskiĭ, a few class notes). Four of the volumes are stamped"Perepiska moego ottsa s mamashei︠u︡..", the fifth "Pisḿa s 1855-1860 g." The volumes were bound by Mikhail Kovalevskiĭ.

Included are letters to his grandfather, Samuel Cowdrey Anderson from Charles Francis Adams and Carl Schurz as well as printed material concerning the National Reform League in 1876 and letters to Samuel's father, Peter, from Louis Kossuth, and Peter's military appointment in 1828 signed by Governor DeWitt Clinton.

The collection contains a letter written to the London YMCA and a poster of reprodutions of postcards from the Scottish National Memorial to Livingstone in Blantyre, Scotland.

Highlight: Pauline Ames in 1926; they had four children. He died in Huntington, New York, on July 30, 1983.
