This is a miscellaneous collection of maps transferred from the Geology Department. Some are old and rare, some are modern facsimiles. Gifts, purchases, and relevant maps from other special collections were added over time. Maps are arranged geographically. The library has a card catalog listing the maps individually, alphabetized by geographical/political entitity depicted; i.e., maps of Paris are filed under P, maps of France under F, and maps of Europe under E.

The papers consist of correspondence, manuscripts, documents, subject files, newspaper clippings, printed materials, photographs, and drawings. Most of the correspondence concerns Bilyi's activities as Ataman, and the journal "Kazak"; other correspondence is personal or relates to the activities of anti-Communist groups (such as the Anti-Bolshevik Bloc of Nations - ABN). The manuscripts include articles, reminiscences, drafts of appeals and proclamations, and speeches mostly concerning the Cossack movement, Cossack history, and the anti-Communist movement. The documents mostly concern KNOD and related organizations for the period ca.1955-1970; a few relate to the Cossacks in 1919-1945. The subject files contain newspaper clippings, printed materials, notes, and correspondence relating to KNOD, ABN, "Kazak", Ukrainian-Cossack relations, and the Vlasov Movement. The newspaper clippings are mostly from Russian and Ukrainian emigre publications. Printed materials include a set of "Kazak" and ephemera of KNOD, ABN, and similar organizations. There are a few photographs showing Bilyi in Cossack dress and also various Cossack emigre organization activities. The paintings and drawings include portraits of Bilyi and his wife, Tatiana Iurievna Bilyi, in national dress (his Cossack, hers Czech), other Cossack leaders, Cossack heraldry, and a map of "Cossackia."

This collection includes records from the Chinese Industrial Cooperatives (CIC, 工業合作社/工业合作社), China Aid Council (CAC, 美國援華會/美国援华会), and United Service to China (USC, formerly United Relief to China/URC, 美國援華聯合會/美国援华联合会/美國援華救濟聯合會/美国援华救济联合会). The records contain correspondence of individuals who participated in the cooperative and those associated with it; typewritten reports of sub-units to the parent organization; periodicals and other publications issued in Chinese by the three regional headquarters (the early ones are probably quite rare); publications in English by these headquarters and by American committees formed to aid in the movement; mounted photographs showing the work of the cooperatives and their leaders; albums of newspaper clippings on the movement, emanating from the U.S. and abroad; maps showing locations of cooperatives; pencil sketches and watercolors of cooperatives at work; and other material concerning this important organization which was largely responsible for China's ability to feed and clothe, and care for the people during the war.

The office files of the American Institute of Pacific Relations and the international Institute of Pacific Relations, containing correspondence and reports concerned with international conferences, research programs, and publications programs of both Institutes, and relating to the political, economic, and social problems in eastern and southern Asia and the South Pacific, as well as with problems of American foreign policy. There are many travel letters and on-the-spot reports relating to conditions in China, Japan, Russia, Australia, the Philippines, India, and Pakistan during the period 1933 to 1954.

Correspondence, manuscripts, lectures, notes, diaries, notebooks, reports, financial records, blueprints, photographs, and printed materials of Y.C. James Yen and the IIRR concerned with the development, sharing, and financing innovative methods of teaching, improving agriculture, health and family planning, and education in impoverished villages. Among the cataloged correspondents are: Pearl Buck, William O. Douglas, Nelson Rockefeller, and DeWitt Clinton.

The collection includes photocopies of Romanovskiĭ's school records, his marriage certificate and of three letters to his widow from Vladimir Bek and Alekseĭ A. von Lampe, as well as biographical information assembled by his daughter Irina I. Malina. In addition there are original certificates of merit and cossack village council decrees honoring Romanovskiĭ, several letters, two military decrees signed by General Denikin, and two maps tracing the southern front.

Correspondence, a diary, documents, subject files and printed materials of Ivan P. Budanov. Correspondence includes both personal letters and items concerning the Cossacks in the emigration. Many of the documents relate to Budanov's legal practice in the Don region, ca. 1910-17. Subject files deal with the Don Cossacks in the Civil War, Cossack emigre groups, and the elections to the post of Ataman of the Don Cossacks in the emigration in the 1930s. Printed materials include maps, a copy of volume 1 of Budanov's "Don i Moskva" and miscellaneous emigre publications and clippings.

Correspondence, manuscripts, documents, financial records, memorabilia, and printed materials. The papers relate to numerous organizations--social, political, civic, and philanthropic--with which he was associated. Among these organizations are Legal Aid Society; Prison Association of New York; Outdoor Recreation League; Socialist Democratic League and National Party; American Alliance for Labor and Democracy; Constitutional Democracy Association; National Security League; YMCA, etc. Included among the papers are his journals and diaries, 1884-1950. An incomplete set of his letterbooks 1905-1960 and some family papers relating to real estate and financial matters

This is a collection of twenty letters addressed to Daniel Polluche "de la Societe Literaire et Historien d'Orleans." The letters are from Etienne de Foncemagne, Louis Lemerault, Nicholas Lenglet Dufresnoy, the Duc de Luynes, Antoine-Joseph Pernety, and Daniel Secousse, and are requests for information and discussions of publishing projects related to work on Joan of Arc. There are also manuscript notes taken from books in the Jeanne d'Arc book collection"Remarques sur une Médaille de Philippe second.." by Polluche, and notes and a battle plan drawn for Samuel L. Clemens book about Joan of Arc.
