The Shih-hui Hsiung (Shihui Xiong) papers consist of materials documenting Hsiung's life and political career from 1907 to 1974. The highlights of the papers are the manuscripts, which include six volumes of Hsiung's memoir, seven volumes of diaries over 43 years, and approximately 440 original handwritten speech scripts. The photographs and political and military affairs related documents focus on Hsiung's active involvement in the northeast region and abroad from 1930 to 1948. The papers overall consist of correspondence, calligraphy scrolls, diaries, a diploma, documents, letter books, manuscripts of published and unpublished works, maps, newspaper clippings, notes, oversize military notices, poems, photographs, photograph albums, reports, and other materials.

The Shuhua Li papers consist of incoming letters from Chinese education administrators to Li Shuhua dating from 1926 to 1972. Also included are letters from Wu Zhihui (吴稚晖) and Li Shizeng (李石曾), Cai Yuanpei (蔡元培) and Hu Shih (胡適). The topics discussed in the letters include higher education policies, changes in the various universities, and political changes in China as well as other personal matters.

South Africa Divestment Records, 1972-1987

Beginning in the late 1970s, Columbia students urged the university to divest from companies doing business in South Africa in protest of South Africa's system of apartheid. After a series of student protests culminating in a month long blockade of Hamilton Hall in 1985, the Trustees voted to begin full divestment. The collection contains the administrative records of this decision making process in the 1970s-1980s.

Spanish Refugee Relief Association Records, 1935-1957

Records of the North American Committee to Aid Spanish Democracy and Medical Bureau to Aid Spanish Democracy, two New York City-based American organizations working to raise funds and provide medical and humanitarian aid for the Republican cause in the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), and to refugees who fled Spain after the defeat of the Republican forces in April 1939. The organizations formally merged in January 1938 and became known as the Spanish Refugee Relief Campaign. These files include the organization's official reports, correspondence, pamphlets, broadsides, photographs, and publicity material, as well as several scrapbooks of news clippings.

This collection documents the long personal and professional relationship between author David Markson and Steven Moore. Moore was Markson's editor at Dalkey Archive, and friend and ally after the both ceased to be involved with Dalkey in 1996, the year the press brought out Reader's Block. When Moore was still at the press they published Markson's most critically acclaimed novel Wittgenstein's Mistress in 1988, one of the first works of original fiction first published by the press, which before had been re-issuing out-of-print works.

Strickman Cigarette Filter Collection, 1965-1974

The Strickman Cigarette Filter Collection documents Columbia's brief ownership of the patent for a cigarette filter invented by chemist Robert Strickman. Soon after their announcement of the agreement, the filter was found to be not much more effective than those in use at the time and Columbia withdrew its support. These records includes Columbia's statements, correspondence, and other materials generated throughout the incident.
