Series I: Alumni association records, 1877-1964

This series consists of materials of the Alumni Association of the School of Mines. Annual alumni list booklets, drafts of alumni news articles, fundraising materials and reports for the Engineering Fund, and correspondence regarding a civil engineering badge are included in this series. Also found within are the Association's governance documents: its constitution and bylaws as well as a certified Photostat copy of the Alumni Association of the School of Mines certificate of incorporation. Alumni events materials in this series represent annual dinners and meetings. The bulk of this series concerns the Committee of Ten of the Alumni Association of the School of Mines. Correspondence between committee members, faculty, and alumni, committee meetings minutes, research into the School's curriculum, subcommittee reports on departments of the School, and the committee's final report to the Alumni Association and the Trustees of Columbia College form the Committee of Ten's records.

Box 2 Folder 1 Mines alumni register, 1875-1880

(This register lists School of Mines graduates with their degree and class year and records entries listing their current address and occupation. The entries were written between 1875 to 1880. The alumni included in volume graduated between 1867 and 1880.)

Box 2 Folder 2 Experience Blanks, 1890-1891

(In these "blank" forms, School of Mines alumni from the Classes of 1868 to 1890 are asked to enter their name, class year, degree, current professional and residential addresses. The rest of the forms asks alumni to complete the following prompt: "Professional experience has been as follows." The forms seem to have been sent out in 1890 but there are notes dated 1891.)

Frederick R. Hutton, Professor of Mechanical Engineering letterbooks

(Bound volumes with carbon copies of the outgoing correspondence of Prof. Hutton. In addition to this faculty duties, Prof. Hutton served as the Secretary of the Alumni Association (The Association of the Alumni of the Schools of Science of Columbia University).)
