Series V: Speeches, writings, and personal materials, 1900-1983, undated

Subseries V.1 contains written material and speeches by Francis T. P. Plimpton, as well as several boxes of manuscript material from a biography of Plimpton written by his wife, Pauline Ames Plimpton, and son, George Plimpton. Subseries V.2 includes a range of material from Francis T. P. Plimpton's education, travels, and family life, including photographs, clippings, and awards. Finally, Subseries V.3 contains extensive records related to the purchase, maintenance, and disposal of Plimpton and Ames family homes in Washington, D.C.; Huntington, Long Island; and Lake Como, Italy. The latter, Villa Balbionello, dates from the late eighteenth century and was purchased by Pauline Ames Plimpton's grandfather in 1919.
