Sub-subseries VI.14.6: Production Company (Film Studio) Promotional Materials, 1946-1989

Scope and content:

This sub-subseries contains promotional documents and newsletters related to film studios during the Occupation period. These include Shōchiku, Tōhō, Shin Tōhō, Nikkatsu, Tōei, Daiei (Kyoto), Daiei (Tokyo).

For confidential documents, and distribution publications concerning film production companies in the pre-war period, see Series IV: Film Production Company Files (Studio Files). In particular, the collection of writings from the 1970s and 1980s about the 1948 Tōhō labor strike,Tōhō sōgi kenkyū shiryō shū/東宝争議研究資料集,in this sub-subseries can be used along with materials about the strikes of the 1940s in Subseries IV.4: Studio Files: Tōhō/東宝 (Box 82).
