This subseries includes material related to original works of poetry by George Bogin. This material consists primarily of drafts; there is also a typescript that appears to be forIn a Surf of Strangers.Bogin was planning to publish a second full-length book of poetry. Although there is no typescript, there is a handwritten list of poems, apparently made by Ruth Bogin, of poems that were meant to be included in the book.

Bogin primarily translated from French and Italian works. His translations of works by both Alain Bosquet and Jules Supervielle were published, and the subseries contains files related to both translation efforts. There is also a file of unpublished Italian translations. Also included is a file of Bogin's transcriptions of poems from the original notebooks of the poet Samuel B. Greenberg (1938).

Subseries 1: Photographs: consists of 174 photographs, documenting four stages of the Bear Run property: its previous incarnation as the Kaufmann Summer Camp, the construction of Fallingwater, formal exterior photographs of the completed house, and photographs of the damage caused to the house by a flood in 1956. The photographs are predominantly black and white images of the house alone, though the collection also includes several color photographs and transparencies of Mr. and Mrs. Kaufmann on the terrace in the early 1950s, which aroused delighted surprise in Frank Lloyd Wright (as evidenced in the correspondence), as they were sent to him amid rumors of their possible divorce.

Subseries 2: Project Records: consists of engineering, forestry, wildlife/fish & game reports, property assessments, engineering drawings, site specifications, elevations, survey maps, project cost estimates, product pamphlets, work schedules and inventories.Early property assessments included in the collection were generally favorable, concluding that the site was well-suited to its contemporary function as a summer camp. Documents pertaining to the period during which Fallingwater was actually constructed include estimates and pamphlets related to upholstery and bathrooms, as well as the gatelodge built on the property, though other related documents regarding the construction of the home can be found in the correspondence. Site specifications also include those for the Visitors Center, built after the house was reconceived as a museum.

Subseries 3: Architectural Drawings consists of 147 photomechanical reproductions for the House for Mr. & Mrs. E.J. Kaufmann, Bear Run, Pa.

Subseries 1 includes the bulk of the photographs obtained from newswire services, organized alphabetically by subject.

Subseries 2 includes photographs removed from the Correspondence in Series II and the Subject Files in Series III. Copies of the photographs remain in the original location, and the photographs are sorted alphabetically by the folder title of the original location.

Subseries 4 includes oversized photographs found throughoutThe New Leaderrecords. They are sorted alphabetically by subject, when known.

This subseries consists of 132 albums of black and white photographs by Ezra Stoller for major works done by the New York office of S.O.M. during the period of the early 1950s to the late 1960s. There are few projects represented that were designed by either the Chicago or San Francisco office. The albums are arranged beginning with non-U.S. projects followed by U.S. projects listed alphabetically by state and city.

This subseries consists of 6 photographic albums. Each album is a compliation of different projects from S.O.M. modern period. They were likely complied for as a presentation toll for prospective clients.

This subseries contains short prose pieces written by Dropkin. Most of the manuscripts in this series are short essays or biographical profiles of literary and entertainment figures which Dropkin apparently attempted to publish. In addition, this subseries contains a large number of play reviews (perhaps written by Dropkin in his role as a member of a theater workshop) and a few notes for works-in-progress.

Comprising the majority of this series, this subseries contains drafts of short comedic sketches that were written for the stage, television screen, or potentially both. In almost every case, the same sketch appears in a variety of forms—often with substantial changes from draft to draft. In many cases, these scripts had attached note cards which appear to indicate which drafts were sent to which producers. In a few cases, the sketches appear to be performing scripts rather than drafts, and in one case a newspaper review was attached to a script.

Though a few songs appear in Series I due to their inclusion in sketches written by Dropkin and Leon, the songs in this subseries appear to have been written in order to stand alone.
