The scrapbooks are as varied as the collectors who composed the different books. They cover an assortment of topics, mostly related to Columbia University history from the 1850s to the 1960s. Among the subject areas addressed in these books are Columbia schools, student life, fraternities, sports teams, reunions, commencement, and famous alumni.
You will need to make an appointment in advance to use this collection material in the Rare Book and Manuscript Library reading room. You can schedule an appointment once you've submitted your request through your Special Collections Research Account.

The Scrapbook Collection consists of books containing clippings, photographs, programs, illustrations, ephemera and other printed matter compiled over the years by individual collectors and donated to the Columbiana Collection.
