This collection consists of records and files generated by the Columbia University School of Library Service from 1926 to its closure in 1992. The materials consist of alumni files, Office of the Dean files, course materials, copies of course bulletins, annual reports, and student records.
You will need to make an appointment in advance to use this collection material in the Rare Book and Manuscript Library reading room. You can schedule an appointment once you've submitted your request through your Special Collections Research Account.

Collection-level record describing unprocessed material made public in summer 2018 as part of the Hidden Collections initiative.
The School of Library Science was founded in 1887, left Columbia two years later to spend the next 37 in Albany as the New York State Library School and returned to Columbia in 1926. The School was permanently closed by the University in 1992.
