The manuscripts consist of three short works written by Smirnov: "Istorii︠a︡ Iosifa, zapisannai︠a︡ na i︠a︡zyke derevʹev" a religious essay; "Ocherk istorii fenologii v Rossi" on the history of phenology and "Los ritmos de las plantas" a published pamphlet to which a Russian abridged translation has been appended.
