The longer of the three typescript memoirs (58 p.) discusses Puzanov's whole life; the two briefer ones (7 p. and 16 p.) concentrate on the atrocities and the investigation in Evpatorii︠a︡, largely repeating the information found in the longer work.

Puzanov was born in Evpatorii︠a︡ and graduated with a degree in law from Kharḱov University. He served as investigating attorney in Odessa and Evpatorii︠a︡ before the war, and in early 1918, he investigated the slaughter of army officers and civilians by the Bolsheviks in Evpatorii︠a︡. He was evacuated to Istanbul in 1921, and then moved to Yugoslavia, where he eventually worked as a dental technician. In 1943, he moved to Vienna, and from there made his way to Brussels.
