Biographical / Historical

Aleksandr Dmitrievich Belozerov (1910-), former lieutenant of the Soviet army. Since 1930 lived through a period of deportations, escapes, concentration camps and escapes again. After each escape, he changed his name and lived with false documents. During the war, he was captured after battles in the area of Velikie Luki and Nevel. Joined the detachments formed by the Germans to fight the partisans. At the end of 1942, was wounded and, upon recovery, was appointed to head the recruitment of volunteers in the Vitebsk region, and at the end of 1943 with a battalion of vlasovtsy was sent to France. There, in 1944, he joined the French Catholic partisans fighting against the Germans in the Grenoble region. When the French command gave the order to extradite him to the Soviet mission, the Catholics helped him to join the Foreign Legion. Again the order came to hand him over to the Soviet mission, he fled again; lived in Germany in the American zone, became DP.
