Series I: International Secretariat, 1983-1995
This series contains international publications such as the AI Newsletter and Catalogue of Gifts as well as some ICM material, a transitional operation plan, and a 30 Year Review of AI.
Series II: AIUSA Documents, 1977-1995
This series contains a broad range of documents related to AIUSA activity arranged alphabetically by subject, and includes board minutes, AGM materials, and articles by Judy Patterson.
Series III: Country Files, 1983-1991
A small series of files on human rights issues in the 1980s in Bolivia, Columbia, Israel, Namibia, Peru, and the USSR.
Series V: Audiocassettes, 1980-1994
The cassettes in this series contain recordings of board meetings as well as speeches by Bill Schulz and David Hinckley.
Series VI: Photographs, 1980-1994
This series contains a small number of photographs of Judy Patterson and other members of AIUSA, including Bill Schulz, Rick Halperin, Abraham Bonowitz, Ginetta Sagan, and others, as well as some of family and friends.

The papers were originally donated by Judy Patterson to the University of Colorado Boulder in March 1995 as part of the AIUSA collection. In 2006 the AIUSA collection was transferred to RBML.

Judy Patterson involvement in AIUSA began in the late 1970s. She served as an active member, editor, regional coordinator, and on the Board of Directors. Paterson died of pancreatic cancer at age 44 in 1997.
