Letters written by Millay as well as manuscripts, proofs, documents, photographs, reviews and clippings relating to her books published at Harper & Brothers such as "Conversation at Midnight," "Wine from these Grapes," "Collected Sonnets," and others. The papers consist of materials from the files of the designer Arthur W. Rushmore who was in charge of production at Harper & Brothers and was the proprietor of the Golden Hind Press which printed limited editions of several of her works. Included are proofs of the above works with annotations and corrections by Millay and Rushmore and a carbon typescript of "Wine from these Grapes." There are also a number of clippings of poems published separately in periodicals. Other correspondents include Millay's husband, Eugen Boissevain, and George Dillon, with whom Millay translated Baudelaire's "Flowers of Evil" and Selected Poems." Also in the collection are the production files for the aborted Steepletop edition of "The Buck in the Snow."

Hetty MacLise was an English-born artist, poet, and multi-instrumentalist likewise associated with various overlapping movements and milieus within the 1960s and 70s avant-garde. This collection contains papers, documents, publications, ephemera, sound and video recordings, photographs, and artwork primarily created by, given to, or related to Angus MacLise and Hetty MacLise.

Correspondence, manuscripts, documents, photographs, and printed materials by and about John Howard Griffin. The correspondence is extensive and includes letter from Jacques Maritain; Thomas Merton; Maxwell Geismar; Eldridge Cleaver; Robert Casadeus; Abraham Rattner; P.D. East; Joseph Noonan; Sarah Patton Boyle; Lillian Smith; Father August Thompson; Nell Dorr; and Brother Patrick Hart. All of his major works are represented in manuscript form (usually typescript, carbon). In addition there are many original photographs by Griffin, which he pasted throughout his extensive journal, 1950-1980. This journal is a remarkable account of his life and thoughts, extending to over 3,000 pages.
