The collection also contains extensive personal correspondence between William Martin and Columbia University Sociology Professor Allan Silver (1930-2015) dating from 1960s-2010s. Correspondence topics include sociology, political controversies at Columbia/Barnard, classical music, and — perhaps most of all - Israel and antisemitism, especially in academia.

James Stanley Durkee was a Baptist and Congregationalist minister who served in Maine, Massachusetts, and New York. He was the last white president of Howard University (1918-1926) and presided over Plymouth Church of the Pilgrims in Brooklyn, New York, from 1927-1941. The collection contains handwritten and typed sermons, sermon outlines, notes, extracts, and newspaper clippings, arranged in chronological order.

Ben Sonnenberg, Jr., is a writer and editor best known for founding Grand Street, a New York literary quarterly, which he edited from 1981 until his retirement in 1989; the magazine continued for another fifteen years before it finally ceased publication in the fall of 2004. The bulk of the collection comprises correspondence between Ben Sonnenberg, Jr. and literary contributors associated with Grand Street. Some Grand Street administrative files and a small amount of personal material, including family letters and writings, are also included.
