Levi's correspondence with his wife, Alice Fries Levi, letters of other family members, his diaries, his school and college notebooks and papers, awards and medals, and personal photographs. The earliest item in the collection is a scrapbook kept by his father, Albert A. Levi, in San Francisco, 1862.

Correspondence, speeches, speech materials, news clippings, subject files, audio and videotapes relating to the professional activity of Arthur Levitt, Jr. The papers and audiovisual material deal primarily with his tenure as the Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (1993-2001), but also contain earlier records, including some materials relating to Levitt's school years at the Polytechnic Preparatory Country Day School and at Williams College, and his work at Hayden Stone, the American Stock Exchange, and the New York Economic Development Corporation, and his advocacy of the National Endowment of the Arts during the 1991-1992 funding controversy. These papers also contain materials relating to his father, Arthur Levitt, Sr., who served for 24 years as New York State Comptroller.

The correspondence is primarily addressed to Clark Foreman, Edith Tiger, Leonard Boudin, and Victor Rabinowitz. The subject files include records of the "Bill of Rights Journal" published by the NECLC along with dinners and the annual Tom Paine Award presentations. Professional papers of Morris relating to his researches into various aspects of American legal history. The correspondence consists primarily of material relating to publications Morris edited or proposed for the Legal History Committee of the American Historical Association. Also included in the collection are the notes, drafts, proofs, and memoranda of his writings, as well as correspondence pertaining to the activities of the American Historical Association and other learned societies.

Seligman's correspondence files on United States foreign policy issues. These files of letters to government officials, congressmen, senators, scholars, and other individuals deal with Seligman's ideas, suggestions, and opinions on the Vietnam War, the Arab-Israeli controversy, China, India, and Cuba. In most cases there are one or two letters to or from each individual. The major correspondent is Ellsworth Bunker, U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam.
