The Opera company's mission is to inspire audiences with innovative and theatrically compelling opera at an affordable price. This collection documents the artistic productions and the daily administrative functions and operations attest to the mission of the company. The materials in this collection consist of administrative and financial records, production files, stage guides, scores, correspondence, programs, photographs, posters, scenery plans, memorabilia, printed materials, and audio and video recordings, dating from 1924 to 2019, with its bulk dating from 1965 to 1991.

Abstract Or Scope: This collection contains audio recordings of Fellowship talks delivered by Olgivanna Lloyd Wright to members of the Taliesin Fellowship nearly each week, usually on Sundays organized chronologically from 1952-1984. These talks continued a tradition begun by Frank Lloyd Wright; they similarly cover a range of topics from Frank Lloyd Wright's Organic Architecture (often read from transcriptions of his Fellowship talks) to the daily activities of the Fellows. Many include her reading from poetry and philosophy and her own theories on moral character and the ethics of hard work. The collection also includes other talkes, speeches, and interviews with Olgivanna Lloyd Wright.

Abstract Or Scope: Oscar Newman (1935-2004) was an architect, planner, and theorist. Newman was best known for his theories on crime prevention and residential design, which he introduced in his book Defensible Space. This collection contains the majority of Newman's projects and writings spanning from the early 1960s to the late 1990s. It consists of textual materials in the form of correspondence, notes, written and typed drafts, and publications; accompanied by prints, negatives, slides, drawings, and audio/visual material.

Abstract Or Scope: Correspondence and manuscripts of Bowles. Most of the letters in the collection are from Bowles to his friend, Ira Cohen, and pertain to Bowles' life in Morocco and his interest in the music of Morocco and Thailand. Bowles was particularly interested in Moroccan hypnotic music and made a commercial recording of it. His notes for an insert booklet to be included with the record are in this collection. There are also eight letters from Bowles to Frank Roberts, his friend and collaborator on the screenplay adapted from Bowles' novel, LOVE WITH A FEW HAIRS. There are also 4 letters from Bowles to Irving Stettner and 1 letter from Mohammed Mrabet to Stettner. The Bowles manuscripts also include three short stories, some poems, an interview with Bowles by Ira Cohen, and several pages (thermofax copies) from a notebook. In addition, a reel of tape with one of Bowles' compositions"Wet and Dry" and a short story by Mohammed Mrabet are in the collection.

Abstract Or Scope: Paul D. Colford is a newspaper journalist who covered the media during the so-called "newspaper wars" that lasted in New York City from roughly 1985-2005. Colford wrote the "Ink" column for New York Newsday until 2000 and then joined the Daily News and launched the twice-weekly "Hot Copy" column, which focused mainly on NYC's publishing industries — newspapers, magazines and books.

Abstract Or Scope: Paul Jarrico (1929-1996) was a Hollywood screenwriter working in the studio system in the 1930s and 1940s. A lifelong communist, he was subpoenaed before the House Committee on Un-American Activities in 1951. His refusal to comply with the Committee's questions saw him lose his job at RKO and placed on the so-called Hollywood "Blacklist." His films were marked by their marriage of art and politics, often commenting on the pressing issues of their time. Notably, his 1954 film Salt of the Earth, a collaboration between blacklisted filmmakers and the International Union of Mine, Mill and Smelter Workers, was regarded as a subversive critique of mid-century American capitalism.

The materials document the career of Richard Brick as a filming professor, producer, and the first commissioner of the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting (MOFTB). The collection also includes materials related to films by Geri Ashur. The bulk of the collection focuses on the motion picture films and production files of the films Richard Brick and Geri Ashur produced, as well as the administrative records that document Richard Brick's contribution to the filming industry in New York during his tenure as the commissioner of the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting (MOFTB).
