Correspondence and manuscripts of many authors who were asked to contribute to the proposed anthology, as well as letters from publishers to whom the project had been offered. Among the cataloged correspondents are: John Ashbery, W.H. Auden, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, David Ignatow, W.S. Merwin, Ron Padgett, and May Sarton.

Primarily oil portraits of 18th century literary figures. There are also engravings, and pen and ink and pencil sketches. Among the literary figures are portraits of Samuel Butler, Lord Byron, Thomas Carlyle; Colley Cibber; Charles Dickens; John Evelyn; John Foxe; David Garrick; Thomas Gray; Charles Lamb; Sir Thomas More; Sir Walter Raleigh; Samuel Richardson; Richard B. Sheridan; Alfred, Lord Tennyson; William M. Thackeray; and others. There is also a portrait by Blanche Ames of George A. Plimpton. Among the artists represented in the collection are James Maubert, Frederick Sandys, and William Hogarth (attrib.)

Also, miscellaneous engravings, lithographs, and drawings. The collection also includes 3 series of books: Macy-Masius Readers Club, Readers Club and Heritage Press. Letters written to the publisher George T. Delacorte, Jr. from various literary figures, relating to the publication of their work in FAMOUS STORY MAGAZINE. Included are letters from Gertrude Atherton, Irwin S. Cobb, Theodore Dreiser, Ellen Glasgow, Fannie Hurst, Selma Lagerlöf, Edgar Lee Masters, Maxfield Parrish, and Wilbur Daniel Steele.

The collection includes the production files for these limited edition and trade titles, as well as Steve Clay's extensive correspondence with writers and printers, and other artist book press proprietors. Electronic records include almost two decades of email, editorial and production files, and the "Archaic Smile Lecture Series".

Correspondence, reports, memoranda, news releases, photographs, sound recordings, financial records, and printed material. These files, more than three-quarters of which are in the Greek language, contain correspondence with Greeks, Greek-Americans, Greek officials, and diplomats, American congressmen, senators and other elected officials, print and media journalists, publishers, and other Americans regarding the dictatorship of the Greek colonels from 1967 to 1974. Also, routine requests for information on Greece, including the loan of audio-visual and pictorial materials, for use by journalists, teachers, students, publishers, etc. The files of letters dealing with the Greek Junta and Greek-American relations contain numerous photocopies of letters from American government and elected officials. Also included are nine sound recordings of Greek language broadcasts in the United States; pamphlets on Greece, and clippings from American newspapers on Greece and Greek-American relations; and photographs of one 1971 anti-Junta demonstration held in New York City. There are some financial records dating back to 1956, including account books, check registers, and cancelled checks.

The surviving editorial, production, and publicity files of Greenberg: Publisher. The Greenberg: Publisher library includes 462 titles published by the firm. Also, personal papers of Jacob Walter Greenberg consisting of letters, manuscripts, photographs, clippings, printed ephemera, and memorabilia. These are biographical in nature relating to Greenberg, his family, friends, business associates, authors, politicians, and other public figures. Among the letters are one each from public figures including Robert Benchley, Bennett Cerf, Fiorello La Guardia, and Eleanor Roosevelt.
