The materials in this collection represent the activity of the Frances Goldin Literary Agency, founded in New York in 1977 by Frances Golden to champion voices of the feminist, racial justice, LGBTQ, and other social justice movements. Authors include Barbara Kingsolver, Eula Biss, and Adrienne Rich. The agency represents in particular work in literary and speculative fiction, investigative journalism, graphic novels, literary essays, and memoir and biography, but with a special focus on fiction and nonfiction that engage struggles for human dignity.
