Correspondence, photographs, clippings, and miscellaneous materials of Sarasohn. The correspondence pertains primarily to family and legal affairs. A few letters from his father, William Gillette, Rose Pastor Stokes, and Will Durant are included.

This collection consists of letters, manuscripts, documents, clipings, photographs, and printed items. The most significant part of this collection is the letters to Cecile Rose Lehman (Seligman) from her mother, as well as the letters from Harold Lehman to his grandfather. There are interesting items regarding Cecile's education and a variety of items having to do with the extended family. There is a album, compiled by Cecile of celebrated actors and musicials, and a odd volume titled "Thru the Rye with the Harold Lehmans" chronicling the before and after effects of alcohol (humorous).

Letters of Hoffman to his family. There are seventeen letters to his niece, Matilda Nicholas Whitman, and one letter to his half-sister, Ann Hoffman Nicholas. The correspondence deals with the literary and social life in New York and with the Hoffman family. Two of the letters have notes added by his father, Josiah Ogden Hoffman. Also, an engraved portrait of Charles Fenno Hoffman.

Letters written by and relating to Watts and members of his family. There are 45 letters written by Charles Wats, dated principally from Biloxi, Miss., to members of his family in New York, and 21 letters from, to, and relating to his sister, Helen Watts, and her husband, H. Floyd Jones, and his family. Also, a few letters from Charles Watts, Sr., to his son, Judge Charles Watts. The letters are personal in nature, dealing with family affairs, daily life, and friends.

The papers relate chiefly to the business, financial, real estate, military, civic and personal activities of Nicholas Fish. There are letters from various military figures concerning army provisions during the Revolution, letters relating to lands given to Fish for his services during the war, twenty letters from various individuals to George Clinton (1739-1812), and ten letters to DeWitt Clinton. The Hamilton Fish letters deal with business matters of his father, Nicholas, after his death. There are a few personal letters from several family members and a diary of Nicholas Fish from 1784. The documents consist of real estate and financial matters of the family as well as various petitions on matters of a civic nature

A photostatic copy of the diary of Strong. The diary, running without interruption from Oct. 1835 through June 1875, contains a wealth of information about life in New York City. Its scope broadens to include the national scene with the outbreak of the Civil War. There is also a miscellaneous assortment of approximately 150 photostatic copies of personal correspondence with family and friends, correspondence during his term as treasurer of the U.S. Sanitary Commission, original drawings, caricatures and doodlings, invitations, guest lists, theater and concert programs, newspaper clippings, a family tree, and photographs. Includes typed index of Columbia references in Strong's diary.

Autograph letters with some typed copies, manuscripts and documents of the Goldmark family in Europe and America. These are primarily family letters, often descriptive of places visited and of current events. The bulk of the material concerns Joseph Goldmark. Also included are a few letters from his brother Carl, manuscripts of some of Pauline's horticultural works, and genealogical material about the Goldmark family.

Reports and surveys made, issued, or initiated by the Henry Street Settlement. Many of the items are the work of Helen Hall. Also, Kellogg family papers including genealogical data, miscellaneous material, and photographs; and phonograph records.

There are 570 letters from John Masefield and his wife to James Alexander MacLachlan, his wife Mary, and their children Howard James and Helen, 1916-1966, autograph poetry manuscripts, drawings, clippings, and 43 books presented by Masefield to Helen MacLachlan. Also, correspondence about the Theodore Roosevelt Association from Horace Marden Albright, Ethel Roosevelt Derby, Hermann Hagedorn, and others as well as correspondence from personal friends; and photographs of the MacLachlan family and friends.
