Scope and content:

This collection consists of department newsletters, student lists, lab experiments, student award letters, event fliers and conference materials, pamphlets, and lists of major requirements of the Chemistry Department.

Box 1: Admin correspondence, lab experiments, events, and conference materials (1890-2005)contains a program of degrees conferred from 1890, major requirements from 1999, list of degrees conferred from 1971-1978, a parody drawing titled "Girls in the Hood - Barnard College" from 1998, chemistry department student award letters from 1987-2007, chemistry 58 experiments circa 1960s, physical chemistry lab experiments from 1968, and events and conferences from 1978-2012.

Box 2: Newsletters, (1960-2000) box contains newsletters from 1960-2000. There are no missing issues.

Box 3: Newsletters, (2001-2009) contains newsletters from 2001-2008. This collection is missing newsletters from 2006-2007, and 2010 onwards.

Transferred from the Chemistry Department.

Processing information:

This collection was processed and the finding aid written by Charlotte Kostelic in September 2015. A significant accural was processed and added by Olivia Newsome in March 2024.
