The BLAIS Advisory Committee (previously known as The Library Committee), is a venue for discussion, consultation, and input on BLAIS (Barnard Library and Academic Information Services) and IMATS (Instructional Media and Technology Services) collections, services, and spaces, including technology to support teaching and learning (Barnard College Faculty Committees website, April 2024). In 1943, the Library Committee (a precursor to the BLAIS Advisory Committee) recommended that this commmitee become a standing committee for faculty to "plan and direct library policy, supervise administration of the reading room, and promote closer cooperation within the faculty and the university library" (Library Commitee February 1943 Report). They also advised on expansions of the library.
