Abstract Or Scope: This collection contains records of the American printing machine manufacturing company R. Hoe and Company, in operation from circa 1805 until 1969. The records were salvaged from the vacant offices of the R. Hoe and Company factory in the Bronx, New York, shortly before its demolition.

Abstract Or Scope: The collection consists primarily of correspondence, photographs, project records, architectural drawings, legal documents, periodicals, news clippings and exhibition materials. The material held in this collection relates to architectural projects for Edgar J. Kaufmann by Frank Lloyd Wright, and the bulk of the material relates to Kaufmann's home, Fallingwater, at Bear Run, Pennsylvania. The collection documents the professional and personal relationship between the Kaufmann family and Wright, from the 1930s until the years preceding Wright's death in 1959.

Abstract Or Scope: The Federal Council of the Churches of Christ in America (FCC), officially founded in 1908, differed from other Christian Unity movements due to its emphasis on cooperation between denominations through service rather than an attempt to unite upon definitions of theology and polity. In 1950 the FCC was integrated into the National Council of Churches. This collection contains newspaper and magazine articles, journals, pamphlets, booklets, correspondence, minutes, reports, and position papers.

Abstract Or Scope: Henry Smith Leiper (1891-1975) was a Congregational minister, church official, and UTS student from 1914-1917. The collection contains materials related to Leiper's work against Nazism in Germany before, during, and after World War II, including correspondence, news clippings, and publications. The bulk of the records were created when Leiper was Secretary of the Federal Council of Churches (FCC).

Abstract Or Scope: Correspondence, manuscripts, playscripts, screenplays, diaries, documents, contracts, financial records, photographs, phonograph records, motion pictures, playbills, posters, sheet music, cartoons, art work, memorabilia, scrapbooks, and printed materials. . The collection consists chiefly of correspondence and production files relating to the creation, production, and performance of their works for stage, screen, radio, and television, such as Leave It To Me and Kiss Me Kate (with music by Cole Porter), Boy Meets Girl, and My Three Angels. Correspondence (with twentieth century authors, playwrights, musicians, political figures, and actors) includes: George Abbott, Jean Arthur, Bennett Cerf, Katharine Cornell, Jo Davidson, George and Ira Gershwin, Alec Guinness, W. Averell Harriman, Lilli Lehmann, Mary Martin, Laurence Olivier, Mary Pickford, Cole Porter, Regina Resnick, Eleanor Roosevelt, Robert E. Sherwood, Lincoln Steffens, Kurt Weill, Rebecca West, and Thornton Wilder. There is also correspondence concerning Bella Spewack's work with the New York Girls' Scholarship, UNRA, and the Sports Center of Israel. In addition to the production files, there are manuscripts and typescript drafts for novels, short stories, and articles by the Spewacks.

Abstract Or Scope: The Herschel Daniel "Dan" Carpenter Papers document Carpenter's life and career from his boyhood and education in rural Ohio, to his leadership role in the New York City settlement house movement. The collection also documents Hudson Guild, a West Side settlement house from its origins in the 1890s, when it organized clubs for Chelsea boys, to its work a century later, when it provided a wide range of social services to West Side residents.
