The papers consist of correspondence, manuscripts, documents, subject files, newspaper clippings, printed materials, photographs, and drawings. Most of the correspondence concerns Bilyi's activities as Ataman, and the journal "Kazak"; other correspondence is personal or relates to the activities of anti-Communist groups (such as the Anti-Bolshevik Bloc of Nations - ABN). The manuscripts include articles, reminiscences, drafts of appeals and proclamations, and speeches mostly concerning the Cossack movement, Cossack history, and the anti-Communist movement. The documents mostly concern KNOD and related organizations for the period ca.1955-1970; a few relate to the Cossacks in 1919-1945. The subject files contain newspaper clippings, printed materials, notes, and correspondence relating to KNOD, ABN, "Kazak", Ukrainian-Cossack relations, and the Vlasov Movement. The newspaper clippings are mostly from Russian and Ukrainian emigre publications. Printed materials include a set of "Kazak" and ephemera of KNOD, ABN, and similar organizations. There are a few photographs showing Bilyi in Cossack dress and also various Cossack emigre organization activities. The paintings and drawings include portraits of Bilyi and his wife, Tatiana Iurievna Bilyi, in national dress (his Cossack, hers Czech), other Cossack leaders, Cossack heraldry, and a map of "Cossackia."

This collection includes records from the Chinese Industrial Cooperatives (CIC, 工業合作社/工业合作社), China Aid Council (CAC, 美國援華會/美国援华会), and United Service to China (USC, formerly United Relief to China/URC, 美國援華聯合會/美国援华联合会/美國援華救濟聯合會/美国援华救济联合会). The records contain correspondence of individuals who participated in the cooperative and those associated with it; typewritten reports of sub-units to the parent organization; periodicals and other publications issued in Chinese by the three regional headquarters (the early ones are probably quite rare); publications in English by these headquarters and by American committees formed to aid in the movement; mounted photographs showing the work of the cooperatives and their leaders; albums of newspaper clippings on the movement, emanating from the U.S. and abroad; maps showing locations of cooperatives; pencil sketches and watercolors of cooperatives at work; and other material concerning this important organization which was largely responsible for China's ability to feed and clothe, and care for the people during the war.

Innokentii Semenovich Smolin Manuscripts, 1950

The manuscripts, all of which are by Smolin, include his memoirs"Davnominuvshee--Vospominanii︠a︡ starogo ofit︠s︡era." These memoirs describe Smolin's childhood in I︠A︡kut︠s︡k, his military training, and his service in the Finli︠a︡ndskiĭ Polk, the Russo-Japanese War, the 1905 Revolution and World War I. The other, more minor manuscripts primarily deal with military themes. The printed materials consist of two articles by Smolin that appeared in the emigre press.

The office files of the American Institute of Pacific Relations and the international Institute of Pacific Relations, containing correspondence and reports concerned with international conferences, research programs, and publications programs of both Institutes, and relating to the political, economic, and social problems in eastern and southern Asia and the South Pacific, as well as with problems of American foreign policy. There are many travel letters and on-the-spot reports relating to conditions in China, Japan, Russia, Australia, the Philippines, India, and Pakistan during the period 1933 to 1954.

Most of the collection consists of essays, apparently written by Left Socialist Revolutionaries on a variety of topics. Examples include I︠A︡kov Braun "Partii gosudarstvennogo kapitalizma i levonarodnichestvo" "O.L. Chizhikov"Integralńyĭ sot︠s︡ializm v mirovozrennii P.L. Lavrova"B.D. Kamkov"Uroki parizhskoĭ kommuny" and G. Nestroev"O kont︠s︡essiakh sovetskomu pravitelśtvu." Most of the manuscripts were written in th early 1920's. Printed materials include Steinberg's book"Ot fevrali︠a︡ do okti︠a︡bri︠a︡, 1917 g." (Berlin, 192_), Soviet legal publications from the period, and galleys for an article by an unknown author concerning worker fatigue.

The manuscripts concern military topics, including the White Army, the Elizavetgradskoe kavalerskoe uchilishche and a critique of General Ti︠u︡lenev's book"Cherez tri voĭny (Moscow, 1960). there are two books by Slezkin"Letopis ́perezhitykh godov" (Buenos Aires, 1975) and Dve semí (Buenos Aires, 1960) and several clippings of articles by Slezkin that appeared in the emigre press during the 1960's.

In addition to personal correspondence and documents, there are files of Amnesty International, the human rights organization of which Morris was American Section chairman. Also included are notes and manuscripts of Morris' studies in Japanese literature and culture, particularly relating to his many books and translations. His interest in puzzles, and compilations of several volumes of them, are reflected in notes and correspondence.
