Abstract Or Scope: Chip Lord (1944–) is an architect, media artist, and Professor Emeritus of Film & Digital Media at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Lord is best known for his work with the art and architecture group Ant Farm, which he co-founded with Doug Michels (1943–2003) in 1968. This collection, gathered by Lord, includes correspondence and material produced between 1968 and 1978, when the group disbanded following a fire at their Pier 40 studio in San Francisco, CA. In addition, the collection includes correspondence and material produced in the following decades that document Ant Farm-related products, anniversary celebrations, exhibitions, lectures, and publications, as well as material documenting litigation (including several cases of copyright infringement over use of Cadillac Ranch), licensing, and royalties.

Abstract Or Scope: This collection contains photocopied images and original published plates of buildings in the United States and abroad designed by the New York architectural firms of Emery Roth and Emery Roth & Sons between the 1920s and the 1980s. The photocopied images are organized by project in binders; the original plates and photographic prints are organized by project in six folders.

These drawings include plans, elevations, sections, and details in full-scale, and the dates of the drawings span 1908-1928. The drawings are cataloged separately in CLIO and their call numbers are NYDA98-F0 through NYDA98-F6; their accession numbers are 1996.011.00001 through.00452.

Abstract Or Scope: The collection is made up of 32 drawings in pencil, pastel, ink, and/or gouache on paper, vellum, or board. Included are designs for light fixtures, chairs, tables, mirrors, sofas in styles ranging from Baroque revival, Greek revival, Chinese Chippendale revival, and Regency revival.

Abstract Or Scope: This collection includes administrative, legal, and financial records, correspondence, specifications, black and white photographs, and reprographic architectural and engineering drawings related to the operations of the City Construction Company in New York City between circa 1945 and 1955. Projects include primarily apartment buildings, theatres, and commercial buildings in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Because the company was working for architects, and often working on extant buildings, drawings from numerous architects are also included in this collection. Major projects include the 15 E. 91st St. Apartments; 25 Broad St. Building; 30 Broad St. Building; 1211 Madison Ave. Apartments; 1211 Madison Ave. Apartments; and the Parke-Bernet Gallery, all in Manhattan.

Abstract Or Scope: Clyde H. Dorsett (1925-2007) was an architectural consultant dedicated to mental healthcare design becoming the nation's leading authority in the design and construction of such facilities. Working as lead architectural consultant for the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) from 1965 to 1982, he oversaw the federal government's ambitious program to transform the nation's monolithic state mental hospital structure into a wider variety of local and state facilities to address a spectrum of medical and social needs through more precisely tailored, yet humane and informal design approaches. Underpinning the work was the growing conviction that the built environment played a significant role in the healing process, and that such 'scientifically' derived design could be applied to social problems. Based at the institute's offices in Washington D.C., he both advised on individual projects through drawings submitted by architects nation-wide, as well as developing guidelines and standards for the accreditation, certification and funding of construction projects by the federal government. It is of these documents that the present collection largely comprises. He continued advising in the field long after his early retirement from the institute in 1982.
