Correspondence, manuscripts, lectures, notes, diaries, notebooks, reports, financial records, blueprints, photographs, and printed materials of Y.C. James Yen and the IIRR concerned with the development, sharing, and financing innovative methods of teaching, improving agriculture, health and family planning, and education in impoverished villages. Among the cataloged correspondents are: Pearl Buck, William O. Douglas, Nelson Rockefeller, and DeWitt Clinton.

The collection consists of professional papers, correspondence, photographs, music, writings, and artwork of Jack and Irene Delano. Materials document their work with the Farm Security Administration (FSA), public television station WIPR, and Puerto Rican government educational agency DIVEDCO (División de Educación de la Comunidad; Puerto Rican Division of Community Education), as well as many personal projects inspired by Puerto Rican history and culture. The collection contains black and white photographic prints and negatives, drawings, publication designs, fine art prints, posters, musical scores, screenplays, exhibit catalogs, and ephemera. Works represented include photography books Contrasts/Contrastes and Puerto Rico Mío and illustrated books Sabios Árboles, Mágicos Árboles, Los Aguinaldos del Infante, Los Milagros en Metal y en Cera de Puerto Rico, Plenas, The Conquest of Puerto Rico, The Emperor's New Clothes, En Busca de (In Search of) Maestro Rafael Cordero, and Coquí by Tomás Blanco. Also present are materials relating to documentary films by Jack Delano such as Los Peloteros, El Legado de Arturo Alfonso Schomburg, and La Gaceta.

Correspondence, research notes, articles, clippings, photostats, and photographs. These files concern his interest in Pierre Bayle, Antoine Arlier, and the Renaissance in Provence, as well as the Romanic Review, philology, French, Spanish, and celtic studies. Among the correspondents are: Philippe Berthelot, Nicholas Murray Butler, F.R. Coudert, John H. Finley, the Prince de Ligne, Curtis Hidden Page, William B. Parsons, and Aime ́Puech.

The papers document the audio and video productions of performance theatre pieces, and other ephemera of performances and readings, photographs (contact sheets and negatives), publicity images; portraits; personal snapshots taken on tour, with members of Latinarte/Ay Ombe and other musicians; artwork, and teachings. In addition, the archive contains journals, business records, draft manuscripts and typescripts of her poetry, novels, and important newspaper clippings reviewing her work.

Professor of Political Science at Columbia (including several stints as Chair of the Department), 1955-1994, The collection includes archival ms. boxes and record cartons, as well as non-archival cartons. Each unit is accompanied by a detailed accession slip; boxes had no original numbering, so for surveying purposes, a number was penciled onto the accession slip and recorded as the original unit number. There is little to no organization of the material, which is mainly loose office paper (largely correspondence and manuscripts) housed in non-archival envelopes and folders, or loose, and bound academic journals and pamphlets. Most of the material covers the topics of Eastern European/Russian Studies, and there is much academic and administrative material as well. There is a significant amount of material in German, Russian, Polish; some Hebrew, French, and Spanish.
