Biographical / Historical
J. H. (John Hopkins) Worcester, Jr. (1845-1893) graduated from the University of Vermont, 1865, and from Union Theological Seminary, 1871. He served as pastor of Presbyterian congregations in South Orange, N.J. and Chicago, Ill., and taught at Union Theological Seminary, 1891-1893; he married Harriet "Hattie" Strong Worcester (1847-1925) in 1874; they lived in South Orange, N.J., Chicago, Ill., New York, N.Y., and Burlington, Vt., and had four children; Edward (1876-1937), Martha (1878-1878), Leonard (born 1879), and Katherine (born 1881).
