Personal Correspondence

Letters were found in bundles tied by string and with labels (e.g., "Ma", "George", "Relatives"). The letters were originally organized chronologically and the envelopes are numbered. Those letter bundles were untied and foldered. The name of the folder reflects what was found in the bundle label. Letters that were loose (not part of a bundle) were kept together in the "Unsorted" folder. This unsorted or loose selection includes additional personal correspondence, but also Prof. Marquette's appointment letters signed by Columbia President Nicholas Murray Butler.

The label specifies "latter part of 1911" (September to December 1911).
