Summary
This collection consists of the Kappa Chapter of the Society of Sigma Xi's minutes from 1902 to 1997 and a few scrapbooks documenting the Chapter's activities.

Biographical / Historical
Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Honor Society, is the international honor society of science and engineering. Sigma Xi was founded in 1886 at Cornell University by a group of engineering students and a junior faculty member, Frank Van Vleck. The Kappa Chapter of the Society of Sigma Xi at Columbia started in 1902.
