Series IV: Ledgers and Classbooks, 1828-1935

This series contains financial ledgers and classbooks. The financial records relate to student fees and graduation or diploma fees. There is also a set of canceled checks that were collected in bound volumes from when the College was still in its original home at the Park Place campus. Classbooks is the term used for attendance and grade books. These were sometimes kept by an individual faculty member, with information about their sections over a number a years. Other were kept by the department and include information for multiple faculty members.

Ledgers

The volumes listed below contain financial information. There are canceled checks from 1828 to 1857; student and diploma fee accounts and receipt books from 1892 to 1908, and other account books.

Classbooks

Classbooks were used to record student attendance and grades. This information was then shared with the Office of the Registrar. Some of the volumes below were kept by individual faculty members and usually include information for a range of years (and for various schools). However, some books were kept by the department and can include information from various faculty members. The notes include some of the course names, but most list sections by their course numbers. Inside the books, there can be correspondence with the Office of the Registrar, seating charts, examinations, etc.
