Series I: Correspondence, 1941-1942

Box 1 Correspondence

Correspondence between Mary Bradley Fitt (Mrs. Gerald MeCarthy), 1920- (M.A., 1942, Columbia) and her parents Harriet Bradley Fitt (M.A., 1915; Ph.D., 1917, Columbia) and Frank Fitt (M.A., 1915, Columbia). The letters were written while Mary Fitt was studying for her masters degree in economics at Columbia University, September 1941-June 1942. These long, newsy letters deal with her course work, her thesis research, an off-campus job, life in New York City, World War II and family and friends. Also included is the original corrected typescript of her 1942 masters essay, "Argentina's Trade with the Western Hemisphere".
