This is an collection of the original volumes of the University record and Columbia University Record.

Biographical / historical:

Columbia University Record is published on newsprint bi-weekly during the academic year, except during holiday and vacation periods. During summer, the Record is published online exclusively. Permission is given to use Record material in other media.

This collection is located off-site. You will need to request this material at least three business days in advance to use the collection in the Rare Book and Manuscript Library reading room.

Due to the fragile nature of newsprint, permission to view and handle original issues must be given by the University Archivist. The Coulmbia Record issues from 1973 through 2016 have been scanned and are available and fully searchable in the online Columbia Record Archive.

Terms of access:

Reproductions may be made for research purposes. The University Archives maintains ownership of the physical material only. Copyright remains with the creator and his/her heirs. The responsibility to secure copyright permission rests with the patron.
