"This reference material gives references to other books and papers, family trees including people mentioned in the diary, and pictures and biographies of many of the people mentioned in the diary. I gleaned this information from the references, and from family folklore handed down by my mother, Louise Oliver Beebee and her aunt Ellen Oliver (who lived with us when I was a boy). Louise Oliver Beebee's grandmothers were Sarah Ella Jayne Oliver and Emily Augusta Jayne Oliver, and her grandfathers were George Bell Oliver and James Oliver.
