Description

Summary

This collection consists of the press releases and a corresponding index created by the Office of Public Affairs (later known as Office of Communications and Public Affairs).

  • Series I: Press Releases, 1952-1995

This series consists of press releases about various Columbia events, creatd by the Office of Public Affairscovering the dates of October 1952 to August 1995. They are organized by month and year - though the releases are not necessarily in chronological order within each folder.

  • Series II: Press Release Index, 1936-1995

This series consists of the card index to the press releases. The index includes the chronological period of the press releases found in Series I, but also contains references to releases from earlier dates as well. These boxes of index cards are located on site and are arranged by date ranges (1936-1939, 1940-1946, 1947-1995) and then alphabetically by topic. Please note that the "S-SN" section of the 1947-1995 section has always been missing from this card index.
