Collection of visiting cards of musical artists (composers, vocalists, conductors, etc.) and authors, presidents, and other celebrities of the 19th and 20th centuries, most bearing handwritten messages. There are also photographs and other memorabilia.
Cataloged, listed, and arranged. Schang arranged the collection in ten volumes; volumes 11 and 12 contain later additions to the collection. The volumes include photocopies of items that were cataloged and rehoused in Boxes 1-7. There is no list of items that were cataloged available in the finding aid at this time.
You will need to make an appointment in advance to use this collection material in the Rare Book and Manuscript Library reading room. You can schedule an appointment once you've submitted your request through your Special Collections Research Account.
