The collection consists of 484 letters written by Jonathan Nathan to his college classmate, Hamilton Fish, Sr. (1808-1893). The letters seem to have been written between the years 1843 and 1857 though many of them are undated. The letters are personal in nature, dealing with daily activities, friends, and travel.
You will need to make an appointment in advance to use this collection material in the Rare Book and Manuscript Library reading room. You can schedule an appointment once you've submitted your request through your Special Collections Research Account.
