Summary

Drafts of twenty letters from Fouché to the Austrian statesman Prince Klemens Lothar von Metternich. These letters, written near the end of Foucheé's life and during the opening years of what has been called the "Age of Metternich" represent their author's efforts to regain some of his earlier standing by ingratiating himself to Europe's man of the hour.
