Scope and content:: The papers consist of correspondence, memoirs and photographs. The correspondence chiefly concerns resettlement programs in the Near East as well as aid to Cossack emigres. Poli︠a︡kov's memoirs span 1900-1961. There are approximately 40 photographs taken in the Near East (1921-1959).
Biographical / historical:: Poli︠a︡kov was an officer in the Don Cossack army during the Civil War. While in the emigration he was active in emigre communities in Syria, Turkey, and Lebanon.
