Content Description

Clark Hoyt is an American journalist who served from 2007 to 2010 as the public editor of The New York Times, serving as the "readers' representative." The Times instituted this office in 2003, to respond to complaints and comments from the public and monitors the paper's journalistic practices. The office continued until 2017, when it was discontinued.
