Diary of a European Trip, 1931
Kept by Kapp's wife Elisabeth (von Saltza) Krapp (1884—1978). The family spent a sabbatical year away from the US. There were three children, Robert (sometimes Bobby, Columbia '35), Philip (sometimes Pippy, Columbia '40), Elizabeth (sometimes Bet or Betty, Barnard '34). The diary is mostly a record of the things they saw and did (as well as their impressions of the monuments/museums). 166 page ms (journal form, A6).

Letters of courtship and early marriage. They include eferences to colleagues and work at Columbia and there is, at least, one poem (a Valentine's Day poem).

Includes letters from Austria and from England (where he was working on the
transcription/translation of the Exeter Book). Letters to and from GPK and colleagues.
These include discussion of matters of substantial interest on scholarly work and the
institution. Some are lighthearted; some more serious.
