DescriptionContent DescriptionThe collection is divided into two categories: her cartoons, and her children's books. The cartoon collection contains original art, process sketches, sketchbooks, etc. The children's book collection contains her manuscripts, sketches, production materials, and more. The collection also includes her portfolio from Jerusalem's Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, ca. 1970s.

You can schedule an appointment once you've submitted your request through your Special Collections Research Account. Material is unprocessed and closed until basic rehousing is completed. History / Biographical NoteBiographical / HistoricalNurit Karlin (1938-2019) was a cartoonist, illustrator, and writer. She was the first woman cartoonist at The New Yorker since Mary Petty (ret. 1966), and contributed cartoons there for fourteen years, as well as to periodicals such as The New York Times, Gourmet, The Atlantic, and others. |
