Scope and Content
This is a collection of letters, manuscripts, notes, cards, etc. removed from books in Josph Brodsky's working library. There are no letters by Brodsky. The books have been cataloged.
The Joseph Brodsky Book Collection contains approximately 1,350 volumes of the working library of Brodsky.

Biographical Note
Joseph Brodsky, original Russian name Iosip Aleksandrovich Brodsky, (born in Leningrad, Russia, U.S.S.R. on May 24, 1940 and died in Brooklyn, New York on January 28, 1996). Celebrated Russian-born American poet who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1987 for his lyric and elegiac poems.
