Subseries I.2: Alumni
The medals in this subseries are from alumni or class events from 1858 to 1968. The Societies organized different class year alumni into groupings. The Society of Old Graduates was originally used for those classes older than the 1880s. The Society of the Early 80s and the Upper 80s were for the classes from 1880 to 1889. The Forty-Niners (1890-1896) refers the last classes to study at the 49th Street and Madison Avenue campus (before the Morningside campus). By the 1920s, any alum past his 30th reunion could join the Society of Older Graduates.
