Series I contains etchings, collographs, silkscreen prints, and one original drawing by Edward Gorey. The series also includes three photographic prints of Edward Gorey posing with cats. Some items in the series were formerly framed. Gorey did not select the frames, which were removed for preservation purposes.

Produced in 1977 in an edition of 120 (60 for Gotham Book Mart, 60 for Diogenes Verlag). These are "Child on Cliff," "In the Gymnasium," "Lady Under Elephant Table" (also called "Table Pausing Over a Lady"), "Child and Elephant Table," "Child on Animal" (also called "After the Christening"), and "Insect on Unicycle."
