History / Biographical NoteBiographical / HistoricalElmer Berger was a Jewish Reform rabbi and was the executive director of the American Council for Judaism from its founding in 1942 until 1955. In 1968 he founded American Jewish Alternatives to Zionism. Roselle Tekiner was Elmer Berger's wife. She was an anthropologist, who published on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. She received her MA in anthropology from Columbia in 1966 and Ph.D. from CUNY-Graduate Center in 1974. |
