This subseries contains video recordings related to Arthur Mitchell, the Dance Theatre of Harlem, as well as other dance-related recordings. This subseries includes recordings on film, videotapes, and CDs and DVDs.

Recordings related to Arthur Mitchell include personal 8mm films, award ceremonies and other events, career highlights, documentaries, feature films, interviews, and performances. Many of the 8mm films are damaged, although some footage has been recovered and digitized from these films.

Recordings related to the Dance Theatre of Harlem include performances and other events, as well as recordings related to individual dancers such as Rasta Thomas and Lowell Smith.

Mitchell also received and kept video recordings of dance performances and samples of work sent to him by other choreographers.
